So three weeks ago I sent out a survey to 3300 people on my newsletter.
I had three main goals I wanted to achieve by doing so:
- To understand what content people liked the most
- To understand what content if any people didn’t like
- To understand what types of content I should be producing in the future.
Over 700 people replied and the results were very helpful. I thought you might like to know what I learned.
1) What I was doing well…
Overall people love the newsletters, blog, social media the best.
The podcasts and videos were highly rated but many people didn’t know I did them!
2) What I was not doing well…
The website didn’t fare well.
While it looked ok it transpires it was a bit confusing for people to navigate.
I was amazed that of the 700 people that replied I had over 50 people say they had no idea that I did podcasts or videos.
Because of that I’ve completely redesigned the website. With a strong focus on helping people easily get to the best content.
(I’d love to hear your feedback on the new design!)
3) What am I changing…
There are three things people requested the most:
- More blogs – I plan to move from 4-6 a month to about 8.
- A hard copy of my devotional – I am working on getting this on Amazon within a couple of weeks.
- More sermons – I prefer shorter 30min audio messages, that’s why I create my podcasts in a shorter informal format. But I will be introducing a few longer 45-90min sermons into the podcast every now and then.
4) What’s next…
One of the reasons I sent out the survey was to gauge what people were looking for from my ministry.
I asked if there was interest in a course that was more in-depth than I can do via a blog or podcast. One that was practical with very real day-to-day application as well as deeper theological discussion.
People screamed “YES!”
So that’s what’s happening.
Introducing – The Grace Course
I have already begun filming a video course which I’m currently dubbing – “The Grace Course”.
This will consist of well over 120 videos.
Each video will be short, yet packed with content. They will average between 5 to 15 minutes. Each video can be enjoyed on it’s own but will typically be part of a much larger series.
The course is designed to take you on a journey in your beliefs. As well as work out how those beliefs apply in your day-to-day life. There will also be lots of great deeper theological topics discussed for those who want to dive in deeper.
All filtered through a lens of the finished work of the cross.
It will be a course unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
How do you sign up?
Now it’s still very early days. I don’t think the course will be completely finished until Oct/Nov.
However I am planning on opening up the course as I am building it to 50 lucky people.
These people will get to jump in half-way through the construction process with a 50% discount. They will also help shape the course as they share their feedback and suggestions.
I’m planning to open up registration around the end of June and expect these first 50 spots to go within a couple of days.
If you’d like a chance to get early access to The Grace Course – or if you just want to keep up to date about the course – please do sign up to the waiting list.

So there you go, that’s what I learned and what I’m doing in light of the survey I took a few weeks ago.
Thanks again to everyone who took part in the survey! I’m so thankful for you all helping shape this ministry and ensure I’m being as effective in equipping the saints as possible!
