I love a good internet meme and so I figured, why not create some Christian ones. Yes these are rooted in some truth but they are intended to just be a bit of fun so please take these as they are intended, as light humour. That said I’ve added some short thoughts or questions which will hopefully spark some thoughts.
If you click on the titles or the “DISCUSS HERE” links they will take you to a Facebook image where people can discuss them.
I don’t know about you but I always seemed to absent mindedly end up eating something while fasting. haha DISCUSS HERE
Often when I ask someone if I can pray for them, their answer is, “I don’t believe that God can heal me”.
My response is always “That’s OK. I do.” DISCUSS HERE
It amazes me how many people are so insistant that everything that happens is God’s will. This one is as our friend Philosorapter suggests… a real thinker. Either God’s will is not always done or Jesus was telling us to pray pointless prayers. DISCUSS HERE
This one might be a bit too close to the bone for many.
I’m so thankful for the thousands of amazing people out there that are spending time to write songs that have a theology based on Biblical truth and not our own experiences. At the same time I’m definitely looking forward to the day I don’t have to change half the lyrics on the fly as I sing them :) DISCUSS HERE
Some interesting thoughts here again on “God’s will”. Does He really create some people willing that they go to Hell? Not as far as I can see it. DISCUSS HERE
It’s really heartbreaking that people don’t know the context of the Bible verses they quote left, right and centre. Our job is to bring them into truth in love. I think far too often I definitely feel like this, those times there was probably a bit more truth than love. DISCUSS HERE
It’s one of the greatest tragedies of all time that Jesus died on a cross to destroy the sinful nature and yet the majority of today’s church is waiting to die so they can do away with their sinful nature. As Robert F. Capon said… “If you think you are doomed to sin till you get to Heaven then Jesus is not your saviour, death is.” DISCUSS HERE
Believe it or not I don’t actually mind if you want to tithe, I’m not against you giving 10% of your month every week to the church. However I do want to challenge this one belief, you are not generous if you tithe, you are obedient. Generosity only begins when you give more than you are required. Grace is not a license to stop giving 10% it’s an empowerment to give more! DISCUSS HERE
Hope you enjoyed these – I might make some more depending on if people like them :) Please comment below and let me know which ones were your favourites and as always feel free to share anything you find on this site :)
